Frequently Asked Questions

Why refill?

From reducing waste by reusing plastic to saving money by cutting out the middleman (big-box stores and packaging manufacturers), the benefits are clear with every drop you fill.

Refilling also means you can get exactly how much you need (nothing more, nothing less), all while also sampling a variety of different products, including locally-produced ones.

Why don't you have (product name)?

We’d love to hear what products you’re interested in and expand our selection. Please visit our Contact page, hit us up on social media, or come by and talk to us!

If there’s a whole category of products that we don’t carry, it’s probably because we’re still working on how to offer them while complying with federal, state, and local regulations so that we can protect your safety and consumer rights.

Can I bring my own containers?

You can bring your own clean and dry glass, porcelain, aluminum, polyethylene, or polypropylene containers. We will have to apply Good Fills labels to them to comply with FTC/FDA regulations and protect your safety and consumer rights.

I already recycle my containers. Isn't that enough?

Recycling is good, but reducing and reusing is more effective. In fact, many plastics that are collected by recycling companies actually end up in landfills because recycling them is not economically viable. You can see the exposé that NPR did on this subject.

What is the circular economy?

Simply put, it’s an economic system where we design to eliminate waste by keeping products and materials in use. Read more about it at the Ellen Macarthur Foundation.

What does closed loop mean?

Our closed loop suppliers send us products in bulk intermediate containers and we send those back to be sanitized and reused, so there’s absolutely no new plastic generated in that cycle.

Which of your suppliers are closed loop?

Our closed loop suppliers include:

Other suppliers that have fully recyclable or compostable packaging:

For all other suppliers, we either re-use the intermediate containers ourselves or have partnered with local businesses and farms to reuse the buckets, carboys, and drums.

Why do you use plastic containers in your van?

Plastic isn’t inherently bad; waste is.

We use 2.5 and 5 gallon HDPE containers in our van as intermediate containers to bring the products to you, but we fill them from containers ranging from 10 to 275 gallons at our warehouse. We work with the manufacturers and distributors to close the loop by sending those larger containers back when they’re empty. We chose these HDPE containers for our van to reduce weight (and therefore fuel consumption), allow for easy inspection of the container and product, and be able to fit a large variety of products in the van for our customers.

Can I refill at your warehouse?

Yes!  We’re located at 2497 Coolidge Ave, Orlando, FL 32804.

Are refills safe and hygienic?

We take health and safety for both you and the environment seriously.

  • All products and containers are stored in a clean, climate-controlled warehouse.
  • Donated containers are re-cleaned to food safety standards before they’re offered for use.
  • Containers for products that are used on the body are never cross-contaminated with products used for household cleaning.
